hippie-love

4 layer chocolate cake with a vanilla ricemilk custard between layers

This was a cake I made for a friend's band before they left on a 2.5 week tour. They are awesome. Adam Arcuragi (and friends). They are not actually hippies.

That is possibly the coolest cake I've ever seen. So creative.

Your cakes rock! They look amazing. How long does it take to you assemble/frost a cake like this?

Certain cakes take me longer than others. Especially because I usually only do something once, so I haven't "practiced" anything before I actually do it. The Volkswagon bus took me a couple of hours because I tried to refrigerate between stages. Plus, it was a 4 layer cake, and the layers were somewhat fragile. The football groom's cake took longer because it was rather large, and I had to roll out/shape the decals and the marzipan cover. I have tons of fun doing this stuff, though, so it never matters to me how long it will take!
